Natan Albahari took over the position of Executive Director of the Foundation for Liberal Public Policy in February 2025. Prior to this, Mr. Albahari continued his role as the International Secretary of the liberal Free Citizens Movement (PSG) after he completed a two year term as a member of Parliament in Serbia’s National Assembly (2022-2024).
Mr. Albahari began his mandate in Parliament on August 1, 2022, on behalf of PSG, which entered the parliament for the first time after the April 2022 elections. Subsequently, he was selected by the Assembly to serve on the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration and to be a permanent member of the delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
In November 2022, Mr. Albahari was one of the delegation members of the National Assembly at the annual COSAC Plenary Meeting under the Czech Presidency in Prague, and spoke on the need for Serbia to finally align its foreign and security policy with the EU regarding Russia.
Prior to entering Parliament, Mr. Albahari was the Program Manager of the Belgrade based International and Security Affairs Center (ISAC) from 2011 until 2022. As Program Manager, Mr. Albahari was in charge of ISAC programs which deal with Serbia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integrations, organizing international conferences, seminars, study visits and trainings, as well as outreach, advocacy and second track diplomacy related activities. He served as the vice-chair of the working group for Chapter 31 – Foreign, security and defence policy, under the National Convention on the European Union.
Mr. Albahari attended the University of Bonn (2010-2011) as a Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) scholarship recipient and holds a Masters in European Studies (MES) from the Center for European Integration Studies (ZEI), and a BA (Honours) degree in Political Science from the University of Calgary (2004-2008).
In addition to attending the University of Calgary, Mr. Albahari has lived in Canada with his family for 15 years before returning back to Serbia. He was an occasional lecturer at the Belgrade Open School, and has held presentations for various study groups and NGOs on the topics of the European Union, NATO and security sector reform.
